CV re-install - Need help ASAP

I have just replaced the axle seal on the passenger side of my truck. I have popped the CV back into place, but I can't tell if it's in the right spot. There is about a 5/16" gap between the CV and the axle housing. I have tried pulling the CV out, rotating it and putting it back in, but it doesn't want to go any further. Does this seem right, or is there something that I'm not doing here.

I just did mine this summer and I wanna say there was a little gap there just can't remember how big. Enough room to put a claw hammer behind it to pop them out.

I think you're good.

Thanks for the response Matt. That sounds like it'd be about the same gap that I have right now.

Mine have and always had that gap. I remember that flange on the seal filling the gap.

Thanks for the response as well Carl. Sounds like I should be good to drive it this way.
