leaky rear diff

My diff has been leaky for quite some time. I tried fixing it myself a long time ago with no success. I recently had my tires balanced by Kauffman tires and they noticed it was leaking and also tried fixing it. But it still leaks.

Does anyone know of any problems with leaking rear diffs. Is this common? Would getting a new cover fix it?

I'm calling Kauffman tomorrow and demanding they credit my money back for the differential service.

wheres it leaking from? the cover?

they may suck at putting RTV on, like the shop that did my lift, the front diff had drips coming out, the rear diff is all soaked and ****..

try an actual gasket from like www.stuffforyourranger.com or this http://www.lubelocker.com/

Yep, its wet around the bottom of the diff and you can see little droplets between the cover and housing.

I never knew they made gaskets. When I install the gasket, do I use RTV as well, or just clean it really well and only use the gasket?

Yeah, I had a leaking problem in my rear diff, too... Pick yourself up a lube locker and make sure you file down the faces of the diff and the cover pretty well. Make sure those bolts are torqued on right, too, helps alot.
