were to buy cv joints?
 
after long time they finally gave up so now ... were can i buy cv joints online? and how do i know if they will fitt on my truck? do i only need to get the number of teeth on the shaft or how? ive got no idea?

im running the truck with out the shaft that goes from the diferencial to the outter joint to hold the wheel inside so its not that im on my feet. i can still 2wd wheel the truck witht he mud chains in the rear rofl...

but in costa rica i cant find the joints so i gota get em from the us.. cause i go to the dealer and they tel me they only sell the whole axle... 1200$ :jester:.. theyre ****ing mad...:squintfin ...

I can get the whole axle in the US for $75, Ford wanted $300+ for one. Might wanna check like a NAPA or other auto parts store if you have one. I tried Rockauto.com...but couldn't come up with anything for you.

Are your's the same as a US Ranger? If so try ebay.

Wait, you are running the unit bearing without the CV shaft? If so, DO NOT! That outer stub and nut is what holds the unit bearing together, my friend lost his front wheel doing 25mph when he made that mistake.

At least take apart the CV and put teh outer stub with nut in it.

and dont forgit about the axel still when you pull the cvs out the axel tube is open to dirt and stuff now you might wanna leave the old ones in till you get new ones

yeah.... the stub is there... just took out the shaft that that goeds from the joint to the diferential...



and the dirt not buggin me now as im chainging gears atm....

ahh.. ill take a few pics of what i need and u guys might tell me were to get it ... more simple this way...

You could buy some gently used ones, and save a ton of money: Axle Shafts

thanks. and no i got no decent junkyards .. plus its very very very hard to find a new ranger in one... i found a guy with a rolled ranger and i bought the whole cv and it broke again within 200 km...

im still looking for cv joints. anyone have had an experience with this guys? i see some cv joints say you break it we replace it... how true is this? its 2 am so i cant cal them but its atm the only place ive seen they have what i need..... bummer
