What gears do I look for

Ok, I think I am gonna get 33" x 12.5 x 15. What year Rangers with the 7.5 rearend had 4.10 gears? What am I looking for? I know there was a page somewhere that told what things had. Also, what am I looking for on the rear end that will tell me that it has 4.10? I am going to the local junkyard.

Go ahead and swap in a 8.8 with 4.10s, stronger axle and better gears, win win all around. It'll bolt right up too

I will do that later on. I know for now I can get the 4.10 cheap, I just need to know what I can get it out of.

It will probably be the same cost, you have to pay for the gear swap as well. Why not just go ahead and swap in the 8.8 now?

Will it work with 4.10's?

If I put the Ranger 8.8 in, can I just unbolt my drums from my 7.5 and mount them to the 8.8 without undoing the brake lines and stuff?

If you get a 8.8 28 spline I would say yes but if you get one from a explorer or a FX4 (31 spline) then no.

I have all of the thing to do brakes I just hate doing it. I did not get the tires today. They had plugs in them and there was a little to much dry-rot for me. I am still looking.

What is the biggest wide tire I can fit on my stock rims?

Some more people have emailed me about some tires so we will see what happens. I am in no big rush to do all of this.
