Icon5 Whats Compatible with my truck??

EDIT: To save you reading, what year models am I interchangeable with as far as Axles on explorers and rangers? 2004 xlt. from when to when?

So I am going to Pick and Pull tomorrow to see if I can grab an Explorer rear axle for my truck. I was originally going to swap the diff in my truck but after a ton of research and some perswasion by members I am just going to swap the axles. My question is (not sure if this is somewhere on here and I missed it) What years of Rangers and Explorers are compatible with my 2004 xlt 2wd? If I can find a ranger axle with a LSD that would be great (less modification) but an explorer will do just fine. SO where years will fit? 2004 xlt 3.0 2wd fits with ???

Any ranger axle will fit.

Expo's need perches cut and move to the top unless you want a 4 inch rear drop. 03+ expo went IRS so dont bother looking at them.

When you find an axle cut the e brake cables as before they spit in to each axle. It will be near the rear edge of the drivers door on the frame. Take all the hardware you can.

yup, any Ranger axle will bolt right up. (make sure you get the 10 inch drums). With expo axles you have to do some welding and setup the brake lines for disc brakes. Year is irrelevant. Well like 95+.

Welcome to the forum

You should start your own thread, and not sure what your question has to do with rear axles?????

Yes, you can put 1996 engine/trans, computer and wiring in a 1987, lots of wiring but can be done
