whats a good tranny rebuild kit for my 01 ranger, is shift kit needed
 
i have a 01 ranger 3.0 with auto tranny 4x4 my over drive is gone so my buddy at ford rebuilds them for ford so hes going to do mine. mine is not being used for any heavy duty purpose may pull a enclosed trailer down the road for my carpenter tools maybe a 6x10 nothing bid what do you guys recommened. also i asked my buddy if i need a shift kit he said no once its rebuilt its will be fine what do you guys think is it hard to install. heres a few kits i found i think the first kit is a good one with over drive bands.

A shift kit requires you to drop the VB back out to install it.

If you think you want one do it now. Save you 100 bucks.

I would not drive my truck with out a shift kit. They reduce heat and increase life. Plus they make the truck feel like a truck.
