Heavy Duty T-Case Chain

like the title says, does anyone know of a heavy duty T-case chain that would resist stretching more than the stock one? I would like to stay with american made because i dont trust the material quality of chineese products etc. probably gonna get one tomorrow so any advice would be great.

What symptoms are you getting that you think the chain is stretched? The chain that is in there isnt small by anymeans I have one downstairs that I just took out of my tcase when I swapped the guts over to my 1350 doubler.

when in 4wd (most noticeable in snow) there will be a loud clunk/jolt and the front end will lose power momentarily and my back will start to slide over. I thought these T-cases had a tendency to stretch chains allowing them to climb or skip teeth. both diffs are fine, already been checked out.

Ill keep that in mind, but im still looking around for something that will resist stretching more than a stock chain. with 35's and 4.88s the chain is taking a little more abuse than it was designed for and i dont really want to replace it in another 20-30k

Something else has to be wrong, you shouldnt be going through chains like that. Theres guys who run alot larger tires and gearing that arent having a problem.

well, this is the only thing i can think of. everything in the T-case looks fine as far as ware goes, but you cant tell if a chain is stretched just by looking at ware. still looking into what the proper tension should be so i can know for sure. if anyone has any other suggestions as to what might be the problem im all ears.

Are you running an automatic or manual? I could see if you were a manual and you shock loaded the driveline it might stretch the chain faster then say a auto would.

electric tcase or manual?

i would venture to guess your whole tcase is shot. get ahold of another one and slide it in there real quick and try it.

i have an auto and electric T-Case. what would be "shot" about my case? i had it apart a few weeks ago (the problem existed then also) and all the parts looked fine. do you mean the electrical stuff is bad or something?

it does the same in both. i replaced the motor over the summer with a new one so i dont think that is the problem. an interesting thing that has been happening for about a year or more is that it does not like to go into 4 lo. i usually have to stop and take a fuse out (one of the 4x4 ones near the pass feet) then put it back in and it usually works then. i dont think these problems are related though because they started about 6 months apart.

Both of those sound pricey. Electric cases should be cheap. I bought my manual case for 100, then another 30 for the shift linkage.
