wheel/Hub assembly replacement

I got a 98 ranger with RWABS, is there any special tools need to change the front wheel bearing assembly? Is is hard to do that some one with basic skills could complete or should i get my uncle who is a macanic to help me

You should be able to do it on your own with a good socket set and maybe flathead screwdriver for your vacuum hubs. I've replaced my live axle hubs a couple of times now, and it wasn't difficult at all.

Yeah it's really easy to do. Need some snap ring pliers too

Yea, Just do one side at a time, that way if you get lost on one side, you can go over to the other side and see what its supposed to look like.

I suggest a BFH to knock loose the tie rod end. I would get an extra if you have never done one. When the wheel bearings go I find that I need new ball joints too. So I combo the job to make it easier on myself.

The snap ring can be a pain, I have yet to get one out with out it falling apart. The metal spring always comes out of the plastic. Ford suggests getting a new one, I ebayed the bearing and snap ring for around 75 just a few weeks ago.
