Christian, the house is actually 3 years old now. We're the 2nd owners. Since we have rear entry driveways, I really don't care how it looks.
Bob, Food Fight! :) Everyone else, thanks! |
looks sweet, now ill have to lay some tracks in the torino and take some pics
|
LOL, nice...
This is why open differentials DON'T rock... :( http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...65_83_full.jpg I havent done any burnouts since I got the locker, I need to get on that... |
You've got guts for doing that right in front of the garage like that. I'd have accidentally started a slide and planted the bed in the side of the garage door or the back end of that Honda. Or got carried away and planted the nose somewhere it didn't belong..
|
Yeah, I just punched it for half a second in reverse, and that was the result. No brake holding or anything. But if you look at the angles I was starting to rotate clockwise.
Best part of it, is that my dealership has a deal where they will give you free tires for life, as long as you have all scheduled maintenence performed with them. So I'm not afraid of tire wear... :) I'm gonna try and get them to let me pay the difference to upgrade to something bigger though. |
very cool, but isnt the downside to that, that you can't corner as well?
also, why is the bed crooked? |

Better run 4.56 or larger gears if you even want to come close to spinning the tires. I had an LSD with 4.10 gears and little tiny 255/45 16's in my 4 banger Ranger but it was only good for fun in the rain and snow. It served no purpose on dry pavement since traction was never a problem with such low torque numbers. |

Plus all vehicles naturally have a slightly stronger set of springs on the left hand side to compensate for an ever present driver. |

Well reverse is easier because of the gearing... Forward is hard to break loose on dry asphalt with my 3.55's.
|
very nice[tup] that is the only reason i wish i had my old tires. lol

Truth be told I have a hard time catching much rubber on dry pavement in anything except reverse and 1st. I suspect it's due to the tires. |
dang i cant do crap now lol i had the l/s 4.10s and lil 28 inch tires it was nasty lol.... but thats a sweet pic ill take the pick of myne up my drive way lol... but my driveways like / so idk...

You won't be leaving any black marks with the 4 banger no matter what kind of differential you have unless you gear it to the moon.
|
I'll have u know i can smoke my 31's and i'v burned off my stockers..now if i had an LS i could see where you comeing from i know i would be able to spin them with an LS maybe the stockers but not the 31's
|
I had a 2.3L Ranger with an L/S for 10 years. Leaving black marks was nearly impossible. After 50,000 miles the 7.5 rear end had enough of the abuse and let go. That rear end is too weak to put up with limited slip abuse. Especially with the little tiny teeth you have when you gear 4.10 and beyond.
