How much does a clutch change cost?
98 Ranger 4.0L 4x4, I'll be swapping to a manual transmission soon and wondering how much it would cost for a shop to do the swap. The pedals and everything would be prepped ahead of time, just pull trans and T/C, remove flexplate and install flywheel and clutch and new trans and T/C and bleed the clutch. Probably get the rear main seal replaced at the same time, but that should be much extra.
I want to do it myself, but I'll be doing it in the backyard, not really worth it to save a few hundred in labor. I'll be calling up different shops, but want some opinions on roughly what it should cost.

Its compliocated to do though, takes alot of fine tuning and some specific tweaks.
When I bought my Spec Stage II Clutch Kit, I had to go in and get my transmission rebuilt anyway, so I brought it in for $600, and they put the clutch kit in for free along with a slave cylinder I had purchased.. It was good for me, and they said it was -much- easier on them, since they had new parts to work with :-)
