lol i paid $300 for mine (exact same axle) but it had 100k on it. his has 25k so that is about the right price.

The damage to that ranger is pretty hefty, that's to say the least. I wouldn't doubt that that rear-end has a bent axle or something broke or tweaked.

Makes sense. Usually in a bad frontal crash where the car stops instantly anything that is running on metal-on-metal gears (like diffs and trannys) are destroyed instantly.
