you could charge a 4.0 OHV. he probably did it back when they still sold kits. like the old 3.0 Whipple kits.

Ya I remember those!!!

I have searched for one and I never came up with much...back to searching I guess. I kind of wonder how an OHV would even take a supercharger.

i was talking to a guy at a ring and pinion shop about running slightly different ratios... he said the absolute biggest difference would be ratios that are within .06 of each other.. so that should be fine.. however im still not sure where he found a 5.44 gearset

Omg I hate you all seriously, like 9999 times I've said check out my earlier post. Atlas makes an aftermarket transfercase with 5.44:1 gear set so maybe that's what he's talking about!

I've seen you whining about it. That's a definite possibility but it's all speculation.

Yea but I am sure that he would have said it has an Atlas in it. Those things arent cheap, and considering the amount of detail put in the rest of the ad, I doubt he would forget a $3000+ transfer case.

He probably meant 5.43's in the rear end.

If you are building axles, why wouldn't you buy matching gears in the first place?

You cant always get matching gears. You can get a 5.43 for a ford 9 inch, but you cant get that gear set for a Dana 44

But as long as it is within 1.1% ish, there will not be any problems. If he aired down his rear tires more than his front it would make more of a difference.

This thread is full of edumication!

Funny enough, not to confuse you even more, alot of high horsepower mud dragsters run a bigger gear set in front than rear, so the front has more flotation and spins faster. Its in the mud, so there isnt any worry of it binding up the driveline at all.

I would love this truck. Maybe lower it 4-5 inches then cut the fenders out. Put in a doubler, and it would be set up perfect to wheel up here. Too bad it would be absolutely impossible to get it to pass inspection up here.

^ considering the 270 hp it's putting out i would say thats exactly what he's got em for. especially running the 39.5's its obviously made to go THROUGH stuff not crawling.
