8.8 Locked and Geared, Arizona
Ford 8.8 Locked & Geared
I upgraded and I’m looking to sell my Ford 8.8 rear axle. I would like a local pickup or to meet half way somwhere. I’m looking to get $500 out of it but I’m open to offers. Don't be shy. Ford 8.8 out of my 2005 Ford Ranger 28 Spline Drum Brakes 5.13 gears Lock-Right Solid Diff Cover 5x4.5 bolt pattern We all know what an 8.8 looks like but here is a picture. It has been pulled out and is ready to go. It has a clean diff cover now too :biggthump http://lh6.ggpht.com/_LD-cnN6c1Rw/TF...0/DSCN1429.JPG |
i want the diff cover!
If it were 4.56 or 4.88 I'd be interested, but free bump anyhow...
Anybody somewhat close to Arizona interested in this axle? I'd like to get rid of it. Make me an offer.
u be willing to ship to washington state?
I don't know the 1st thing about shipping an axle. I've shipped parts and normal stuff but something as big as an axle, I have no clue.
you'll have to put it on a pallet and ship it via freight
i'd love to have this if I had the money.
5x4.5 is not the stock bolt pattern is it? I've got a stock 7.5 and if my wheels will fit I may be interested.
yes it is the stock bolt pattern. the same one that is on your 7.5
I'm pretty sure mine is like 5x113.5 or some random a$$ number like that. I guess I could always go check... haha
No its the same. It is exactly the same.
5x114.3 is the same as 5x4.5, it's just different units. mm vs inches.
Thanks Michael. That explains a lot
i wish you werent so far away!!! i would pick this up in a heartbeat
Ugh why can't you be in jersey, I want that axle!
Yeah I know how you guys feel. I still got it and would like to sell it but I'm not going to put it on a pallet and ship it. Maybe this summer if I have the time I might go that route.
What sucks is that my rear is shot and this is exactly what I was looking for
That wouldn't happen to be the electronic locker with the switch is it?
That's a sweet locker. It allows the one wheel to rotate more than the other on a turn?
Yeah that is how they work. Unless you're heavy on the gas going through turns it is pretty invisible. You'll hear the locker click when navigating a parking lot as it unlocks and the teeth are overriding one another to allow one tire to move faster than the other. Best bang for the buck if you don't mind some clicking and a pop or bang every now and again. It's normal with these lockers. Or you spend around $700-$900 for a good selectable. The no-slip (automatic locker) is a good unit too but it costs more and has more parts but it is friendlier on the street. I could care less as the lock right isn't bad at all in my opinion. After all, it is a locker.
My cousin has a Detroit locker and he likes it but you have to be off the gas for it to disengage and allow you to turn
I've heard the Detroits aren't as street friendly but they are stronger as they are a full carrier replacement.
How much does that locker retail for? Can't seem to find a price on that site
