Tremec 3550 auto to manual swap (FL)
I swapped to a 4R70W so my setup is up for grabs. The trans ended up having a bad throwout bearing, but I don't care, I was just tired of shifting gears:) Included is just about everything needed to swap from an auto to a manual.
Tremec 3550 with 302 bellhousing
Centerforce Stage 2 clutch disc and pressure plate (you will need a throwout and pilot bearing)
50 oz imbalance flywheel for 81+ 302
Manual flexplate shield
TTC (Tremec) midshift kit with custom shifter lever that puts the shifter right back in the stock location (for those with a manual already) and shifter boot
Total Performance external hydraulic slave cylinder setup with newer Nissan slave cylinder
Newish big bore master cylinder, with braided lines, and clutch pedal switch
Correct steering column plastics, key lockout switch, clutch pedal, steering column brace to replace the one that holds the shifter cable, and blank PRDNL cluster for those swapping from an auto.
That's all I can think of for now. $1100 plus actual shipping or local pickup in 32653.
Thanks in advance,
Jesse

How much do you think it will cost to truck freight the package to 01930 in MA ?
I am very much interested but worried about the install and in no way will I be by to pick it up.
Also,
1) What year Ranger did you install this in ?
2) How did it fit in the Ranger, any problems with the install ?
3) What clutch throwout bearing slave did you use ?
4) Do you have any Writeup or maybe a How-To somewhere on the install ?
Sorry for the questions but I like the idea of this setup but not sure if I want to do it.
Thanks/Later

I'm not sure how much freight would be, but if you are serious I can get a quote. As for what clutch I used, that answer is in the first post: centerforce stage II. What slave I used was also in the first post: Nissan 280zx. It was in a 98 and will fit just the same in an 03. I don't have a writeup, its all basically remove and reinstall. If you have never r&r'd a transmission before, get an explorer haynes manual and it will give you a pretty good idea. I don't see in your sig that you have a 5.0 swap, but this won't bolt up to stock ranger engine.

First off, I didn’t look to see whether your truck is a 2 or 4x4; I didn’t see it in your sig or in your profile, since my first post so I need to ask.
If a 4x4, I MIGHT be interested in it, any pics of the interior of your truck with the shifter position shown ?
Weight is the killer here, if it isn’t too much trouble AND if this is for a 4x4 get a price, we can talk later.

How much for just the 3550? I have a mustang with a 347 and already have the bellhousing and parts needed to complete my car, just need a tranny. Call or text me at 419-234-7926 with a price on the transmission

Spoke with the original owner, the trans was rebuilt 60k miles ago by the Tremec pros, Liberty Gear, up in Michigan approximately 60k miles ago. It was rebuilt with the far superior TKO case. The trans has never had slicks or drag radials behind it and is in great shape.
