wolfman00 05-26-2009 08:41 PM

how many miles on it?
The exploder one fits though right?
how much for shipping?

TrucknGolf 05-26-2009 08:55 PM

Why dont you get the one superlift made for this problem?

RangerNVS 05-26-2009 09:06 PM

because the superlift shaft is a RIP-OFF!!!! see this post:

TrePaul86 05-26-2009 09:16 PM

It's not a rip off, just an alternative. I have it. Paid $400 for it and solved every problem.

Direct bolt in as well.

RangerNVS 05-26-2009 09:33 PM

well everyone is entitled to their opinion Trev :headbang:

im not sure i would have to go look but the joints are good im pretty sure its a direct bolt in and it should be around 45 to ship

wolfman00 05-27-2009 08:13 AM

well i got 30 out of my last one, and i refuse to pay 500 for a new shaft haha, so i will just get a used one and get another 20k or so.

Downey- im going to check local boneyards to see if something comes up. If not, i will take you up on that one. sound like a plan?

xp1ik99 05-27-2009 09:30 AM

make me one of those bumpers and ill hand deliver you a shaft this weekend for free......and your lucky to get 30k i only got 6k out of mine

elanalvey 05-27-2009 11:06 AM

I believe Steve has the best offer. (once it's built steve, I want measurements.)

wolfman00 05-27-2009 11:06 AM

if i had a shop with the right tools i would definitely build them.

Downey-I think i found one at a bone yard, i need some other odds and ends aswell so I think I will just pick up. Thanks for the offer though, I appreciate it.

Downey 05-27-2009 08:24 PM

no problem man let me know if it fall thought

Fx4wannabe01 05-28-2009 01:40 AM

OP, dont waste your time going through stock shafts. Upgrade it. I went through my first in 5k, then i got a junkyard replacement when snow hit, and it lasted me a whopping 10miles. That is when my new front shaft build was accelerated to be done.

See thread linked above and below...

Some like to get it done for half the price....I know in your situation you needed it then and now, but for others, like this time of year, dont need it immediately.

wolfman00 05-28-2009 09:37 PM

got one for 75 bucks, so we see how long it lasts. but if not- 97 and down shaft with an adapter will happen.

Fx4wannabe01 05-28-2009 10:36 PM

75? outch. there goes 75 for the adaptor...

RangerNVS 05-29-2009 05:21 AM

yep I agree.....tsk tsk

wolfman00 05-29-2009 09:26 PM

75 is too much?

where can this adapter be found for future reference...

Fx4wannabe01 05-29-2009 10:26 PM

did you click the link above with all the info you need in it?

here's your adaptor:

http://www.drive-lines.com/parts1.php?pn=N2-83-288X

Yes....75 is too much for a used stock shaft that'll probably blow up a few days after putting it on. Ask me how I know.... I bought a tight tight 30k used shaft for 50, only to have it blow up less than 10miles down the road. Do you really need a front shaft right now? I mean....get your adaptor, get your shaft, get it shortened and bolting it up should only take a max of about 2 weeks of 4wd downtime.

wolfman00 05-30-2009 09:42 AM

yeah i clicked the link, its hard to filter though and find the good stuff...

Well, im heading down to assateague island next week so dont think i will have the time to get one made. "hopefully" this one will last through the trip. Im taking the tools with me just incase it goes out.

Im scanning tom woods right now getting ideas.
Thanks for the info you all though, i appreciate it.
