08 bumper on a 96

is it just a bolt on or will i have to do some modding to my frame horns to get it to work?

08xlt4x4 has the bumper from his truck sitting in a hangar 7 blocks from my house i may have to go steal lol

anyone have pics of such a feat?

Frame horn mods, yes. For stock bolt-on.

Getting his old tube bumper on your truck is merely a trip to the welder away...

knowing you, you'd have that crazy idea to do that!

lol......yeah...frame needs to be addressed and you'll have a big gap under your grille because the bumper isn't flat on the top like yours is.

any bumper from 98 to present i believe is interchangeable, anything older than 98 is not without some heavy duty mods

The 98 grill is completely different than yours. As Shane said Your grill is flat at the bottom. The bumper isnt. If you like gaps then go for it, but I think you will regret it.

i think with the bumper filler installed under the header panel it may look half way decent. ill have to see what it will take to make it bolt on to my frame horns
i think ill have to add fender flares to make it match the back part of the bumper

Here's my '93 w/ edge bumper and '07 bumper. Just have to make new brackets because the frame horns are wider on '98 and up.

the way that 04 bumper attaches is the same as the way the 08 bumper attaches... sooo, it is possible, but who know what he did to the front of the frame to make it work.

you can see the frame horns in there, the slots to the left and right are what the bumper mounts to... does yours look anything like this?
