09 grille on an 04

Do you guys know if this grille would work with my 04? it says it just attaches to your current grille for an 06-09, but i was wondering if it'd work on an 04 too.

they're sold black because they're paintable. selling them prepainted would be much too costly for the retailer. If you want one already painted, your only bet is craigslist, ebay junkyard sellers, junkyards, and possible members here or on any of the other Ranger forums. Check out www.car-part.com too.

Pre-painted H-bar grilles can be bought from the dealer. They cost around $200.

It just depends on the look you want. I'd probably go with the white though. I had a chrome H-bar stock, bought a blue H-bar, and then an STX grille. I sold all but the STX for around $100.

I know its not the right color but the price is pretty fair on it. If you're going to have to get it painted anyways I guess it doesn't matter what color it starts out as.

Personally, I like your truck the way it is. No offense to Kevin/Sparkyz....but I find that 06+ H bar grille colormatched on any light color(white, yellow, red) to be ungodly ugly. I wouldn't own one. Except silver. I kinda like those on silver. lol.

What you choose it up to you and what you want your truck to be. I always thought it would be cool to own a 04+ and have a whole collection of different grilles I could put on it! Change the mood every couple weeks!

What do you think about a chrome 04-05 grille surround with black billet? You've already got a non-stock grille on the truck being that it's painted...and it's still got the funky yet real good look to it that youre currently running. I don't recall seeing anyone run that combo before. My thoughts of the white 06+ H-bar is that it's just too much white on the front end. Doesn't flow with the black valence and chrome bumper you've got. IDK...I've been told I could be an home interior design major on how to make a truck look good and flow well. HAHA!

Just tossin' ideas out there. Not trying to steer you away from what you want the truck to be.

ebay or lmctruck.com or whatever for the 04-05 XLT grille(I'd do a 4x4/Fx4or grille). Billet would have to be aftermarket. I hear really really good things about the Carriage Works brand billet grilles. You'd remove the insert(black plastic) and replace it with the billet.

No offense taken Shane. I like the way my truck looks, you dont, but atleast we both have the same good taste in OLD trucks!
