Silverstar Ultras FTW

Silverstar Ultras FTW
okay, so I while ago I was feeling ricey and wanted blue headlights and yellow fogs. My yellow fogs blew up when I got water in the fog light lenses from driving through a big water hole and the blue headlights just sucked all sorts of ***.
Instead of going for HIDs, I just went out and bought Silverstar Ultras for my headlights, and got 9005's for my fogs and modded them to fit.
All I can say is that for the ~$100 CDN I spent on the 2 sets of lights, night time visibility is absolutely INCREDIBLE. It's no wonder you guys who already run them swear by them and recommend them. I had plain Silverstars before and I didn't like them at all, I found them no better than the stock lights, but the Ultras make a world of a difference.
When I drive to work in the morning at 5am or am leaving work at midnight, I drive home for about 35km up 2 lane dark highways with no street lights. The Light these bulbs put out for a standard halogen is crazy!
They were worth every penny. I am so happy I finally broke down and bought a set. They aren't fancy blue or yellow or purple, but they are bright as hell and give clear, fantastic vision.
On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, for a halogen bulb, I rate these an 11. Go buy a set if you don't already have them. They turned a nay-sayer into a beleiver.

Thats why I was iffy on how it would work because i heard they dont focus properly because the reflectors behind them werent meant to aim those bulbs. And are brighter but dont project as far for this reason.. But i would like to see it for myself as well.

The HIDs are bright and seem to reach for ever. The different colors you can get are fun too. The thing for me was I just didn't like pissing off the other drivers, after seeing people come towards me with retro kits and hearing my girlfriend complain about me driving behind her I decided to get rid of them and try the Ultra's instead.

I love my HID, I never have a problem with other drivers, or too much glare. I also have a high/low setup and have done the HI w/ Fogs mod. I would never trade my HID for any incandescent bulb.
I am even considering modding my car so I can have HID Projectors/Fogs and Highbeams all at the same time. This would be sweet for those roads with no street lights.

Thanks dude! Everyone else will appreciate it!
I know I've said it before, but I like HID's, and I think they have their place.
But not in a halogen reflector for street use.
They would be great to retro some off road lights. I'm actually trying to get a hold of HID landing lights for the helicopter I fly, the light output from them is incredible, and they are supposed to last for more than 2000 hours, versus the 20 hours of the 100 watt landing lights in there now. Not only will I be able to see much better at night, but I can leave them on all the time and be much more visible to other air traffic. Downside is they are $1200...

It may not sound like much when you see the thousands of hours the plane/chopper flies, but you got to realize that the lights are only on for landings and takeoffs. So you can fly for 100 hours and only have the lights on for a total of 2.

Well, I went up to the parts store and got the bulbs.....$49.99, which I guess is alright.
Should be a huge improvement, as I wasn't aware that my Dodge had the BLUE HEADLIGHTS IN IT!!!!!! I hope so, anyway.
I'll be checking it out tonight. Hopefully I don't have to adjust them, as my drivers side light is in need of a change, lol. Just too lazy to get new head lights.

I didn't adjust mine and nobody has flashed me or anything in over a week with them.
They aren't any fancy colours or anything, but they are just the brightest halogens I've ever seen or used. The best part is that when they are on, they do not look blindingly bright to oncoming traffic, they almost look like an OEM bulb.
