Icon5 I want aftermarket taillights for my 1999 but...

Every listing I find says will not fit stepside box... Don't they make "cool" tail lamps for the stepside box?

If my memory is right, there is no difference between the fleet side and step side tail lights.

I put 02 lights in my 99 and to get the the light sockets to fit I had to trim some metal inside the fender of the step side .

There is no difference in the mounting of the taillight for styleside to flareside.

The sockets may be a different story.

thats what I said , anyway there is a section of metal that needs to be trimed about a 1/2 " to allow the light socket to fully lock into the light assembly .Mind you I went form a 3 light set up to a 2 light set up . ie went from 96 taillight to 02 taillights

Now I have to decide... Just a euro style taillight, or a LED taillight assembly? I bought a set of LED assemblies for my 1991 Silverado off ebay years ago, and they are still working good.

Anyone else here running LED taillamps on a 98-00 Ranger?

There will probably be varying quality with LED assemblies. All the ones I like are pretty pricey. Right now I'm just running LED bulbs in 06+ tails

I'm just running LED bulbs with stock housings on my 2002 ranger. Installed a EP27 flasher to work with the bulbs.

I'll think about what I want to do. I spent the money I was going to spend on the tail lights on that bedliner I got. So I have some time to think yet.
