Need a recommendation for a set of step bars for my 99 Ranger 2 door extended cab which would require no modification - jus t bolt on and go. I found a ton on eBay but some of them recommend that they be "professionally mounted". That tells me drilling or modding of some kind which I would like to avoid. My truck is black so thinking the chrome ones might look nice. Thx in advance and sorry for misspell on "nerd" bar in subject box but I can't seem to change it.

 

Most things will 'recommend proffesional installation'. It's a disclaimer that keeps them safe if someone screws something up, they can't be sued.

As far as I'm aware, you can't just bolt 'em on, unless it came with bars previously and you're putting new ones on, then maybe.

 

i installed a set on my ext. cab ranger that come off of a 2 door explorer sport. fit perfect... no modifying just had to drill a few holes
