Bug Guard

Bug Guard
Just did a few searches and didn't come up with much. I'm looking into getting a bug guard for the front hood/grille area. What is a good quality one, and how much do they run? I was going to get one from Walmart, but I'm not sure how that'd look anyway. Don't want anything too gaudy, but I don't know.
Also, do these things really help with the damn bugs? Probably save a few rock chips from the highway as well.

well they not useless..
they usualy do keep the bugs off because it changes the airflow, it wont help to much with rocks tho exept for really small ones which wouldnt damage your window anyways...
they can run from 30$ to like 90$... lund makes a nice low profile one thats got good curves on it so it doesnt look out of plaace

They work, I dont have one on the truck right now because of the hood damage and I have to clean my windsheild everynight. Ford dealers sell them for about $65 and with an 04 model you do not have to drill holes with it. Other models I have seen you have to drill holes in the hood of an 04. The Ford one uses push in screws that spread the back of the base out, it holds fine. Here is a pic of one on my 04.

Other option: Auto Ventshade (AVS) Bugflector II...what I have on my '04 FX4 L2...no drilling required.

in my oppinion i wouldnt get one cause when it rains or you park under a tree then the water and rain or the leaves get stuck in between and the sand is the worst... it scratches up that one area and the water sits in their and rots your hood and rusts the bear metal from the sand scratching the paint off.. my dad had one on his 02 ranger and when he took it off .... ooooooohhhhhhhhh maaaaaaaannnnnn ......
but thats just my oppinion...
