98+ beds fit a 97?

New to the forum.
Just got a 97 Ranger.
Needs a bed. Can I get a bed from a 98+ and fit it on my 97 or no?
Thanks guys
oh, and its a extended cab styleside (not stepside)

Different "generations" so I would say no.

Read here about the 3 Generations: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_R...rth_America%29

And compare width, length and wheel base
Not alot of change from '97-'98 but even a 1/2 inch can stick out like a sore thumb

Anything 93+ should work. I would obviously test fit before buying if at all possible.

Yea, I agree. Anything from 93+ body wise should be interchangeable. There was only minor updates and that was to make room for different bumpers or larger grills. The beds should be good.

I put a brand new '95 steppe on my '03.
Only thing I lost was the hole for the spare tire crank.
I tried a '98 bed it too fit the '03 chassis so I believe but not absolute that the beds are the same, just the cabs cabs changed a little.
