Satoshi Grille Mod. Status: Complete

Well I have been wanting to do this for a long time now. This is my take on the Satoshi grille for a ford ranger.

For Reference here is an older pic of my truck.

And now the Satoshi Grille.

So please rate, hate, appreciate. Just be nice. If you hate, that is ok, because this is AMERICA!!!

Not hating but is it just me or is the word slightly sloped? It looks to me like the word slopes down towars the right... I'm just making sure my head ain't on crooked.

Nah I agree with Oldblue1, Measure down from the F and from the D and make sure they're equal. Just to double check lol.

Looks good though, you should think of wiring two offroad lights behind the grille merely to block up some of the visibility behind the grille!

I agree with the slope of the word and I think it would look a little better if the mesh was moved farther out toward the front of the grille. Not really my style but nice work!

I guess you had enough time to make 6000 posts but never how to use google!

Anyways,
He's a japanese guy who was apparently first to do grille mod of "mesh grille PLUS lettering instead of logo".

Here's a website that explains it
"The Satoshi Grill Mod: Born in the East, Shamelessly Copied in the West"

and he has a pretty cool truck for being a Japanese dude. His exhaust is SUPER gay though.

Thanks, but I ask questions like that to possibly keep the OP involved.
I would rather hear what the OP says than google.

Good job on the grille! It looks great.

Like Aaron said it is a Toyota thing. People do it on their Tacoma's all the time. I just loved that deep dish style grille.
Here is a link to the write up I followed. Toyota Tacoma Satoshi Grill Mod - DIY

Clean install.

I am not one for it though, as it shows too much of the parts behind it. That, and I have done that(minus the emblem) to previous vehicles and wen driving at night(mostly) moths are attracted to that damn thing! lol

Def some lights behind the grill would top it off nicely.

I think a smaller (less open) mesh would look better, but good job.

To each their own, but i personally am not feeling it. Its too deep for me. I think one other thing that is killing it is, how thin the mesh is, even on the last pic, which doesnt look that far away, it almost looks like nothing is there.
