Personally, I think my dual whips kick a$$...just wish they were taller lol .. All I did was mount them on the inside of the bed, I've got to find a better way to run the wire into the cab...I havent locked that back window the the past 4-5 months...

theres no such thing as too big...I use my CB usually only when Im 4x4ing and my buddy close by...then again, I like talkin **** to truckers hahah...the purpose behind dual whips was when a big rig would turn a corners or loose reception because their big wall (the trailer) was blocking the signal, the antenna on the other side of the truck (usually mounted on their mirriors) would catch signal...on our trucks, it doesnt do a damn thing but make it look that much kooler (my opinion)

Co-phase that close together actually hurts the strength of your signal more than it helps it. For Dual whips to help at all they need about 8 ft inbetween them. I do like the look tho. Maybe consider only wiring one up. Or get an amatur radio liscense and hook the other to a 2 meter.

I need to put springs on them..does it really hurt the performance to have them so close? also..who knows about amps? I heard some people have amplified their CB (illegal way of giving more power to CB by adding a chip?) I've heard some people can pick up and send to other states...

A "chip" is more commonly known as being peaked and tuned. Internal parts are adjusted to output better. A linear amp goes on the antenna wire and boosts the signal that way. A linear amp is illegal. I actually have an old 200 watt linear amp that has been sitting in the garage for years because I can't use it. IMO they are kind of an a$$hole thing to do because when you key up with one everything else goes dead. When your going down the road you can always tell if someone has a box.

"linear amp" is what I want then...why cant you use it? just because its illegal? CBs are a dead technology...no one uses them except "rednecks" and 4x4s...

"When your going down the road you can always tell if someone has a box." what do you mean?

and the linear amp...how many miles away does it help for? like I said, I've heard people from other states talking sometimes on mine because theirs is so powerful

Btw...thanks Evan :)
