Anyone Painted their Ranger at Home?

The paint on My baby is really rough. Has anyone used Spray Paint to paint theirs? How did it come out?

There's a member on another forum that used a roller to paint his truck. It actually turned out real nice looking, I'll try and find a link to his paint thread.

Best automotive paint is PPG, by far.
To do it right, you'll need a HVLP system and all that fun stuff. I could go into detail if you want.
but it all depends on what you determine "looks good"

grab a few cheap spray guns from harbor freight and go to town. i think if you take your time, do all the proper prep work, and go easy when spraying, itll come out pretty damn good.

pancake compressor will blow up being running that long. just pick up a wagner HVLP electric gun. they work well and they're budget friendly (a lot cheaper than buying a large compressor)

Control Spray Double Duty HVLP Paint Sprayer-0518052 at The Home Depot

If you have the money to buy the tools for a one time job why not just pay to have it done? You can find someone to do it cheap enough. Yes there will be some blemishes but there will be anyway if you do it yourself.

Well, i wont be using the sprayer for just the ranger, I need to paint my Suburban too. So it may be cheaper just to have a place do it, I am just trying to keep my options open

I sprayed mine at home. I used Sata Guns and PPG paint. I have an almost paint booth at my house though so I guess that's cheating. Oh and my dad is a body guy at a ford dealer and I've painted a lot in the past so

I painted my bumper with Dupli-color paintmatch cans. The clear coat is a bit orange-peely, but it's held up fine for about 4 months now.
