Fog Lights into HID

I installed some fog lights in the back bumper, hooked em up to the reverse lights and im thinking i want them to be brighter, is there anyway to change to HID bulbs on fog lights? do they have to be stock? I washed my truck and water got into the housing so im going to see if i can pry them open. have any of you done this before?

Got to go right now . . . . . ill check in later tonight, thx

HIDs would need ballasts as well and the life span of the lights will be limited to the short on/off times of just throwing it into reverse. HIDs don't like to be turned on/off/on/off. Either plain on, or dead off.

My recommendation would be to find some higher watt halogens and try and retro fit.
