Never put anything on your steering wheel (SRS equiped) unless you turn off the air bag (WHY OH WHY) as it will become permanently embossed on your face should the air bag deploy. I know as I had and air bag go off. I was prepared for and pulled back from the steering wheel. Still took the skin off my chin and chapped my lips for 3 weeks. Powerful stuff those air bags and this site is selling aluminum overlays for the Ford symbol on the steering wheel - looks nice, BAD IDEA!!

Well they have both kinds, and the picture first posted here is for the tail gate or another outside part of the truck.
What is disturbing is they have one that goes on the Ford logo on SRS cover of your steering wheel.
I can tell you from personal experiance that it is not a good idea to put anything there.

The steering wheel cover itself NEVER hits you though. If you remember, the cover splits in the center and folds back like two doors....you can actually re-stuff the airbag into the wheel to move the vehicle after a wreck and get it off the highway.

I've been hit by my airbags, TWICE. Both times, the airbag hit me, and not the rubber steering whel cover.

I see no harm in it.....

Yes, but if you have something pasted on the cover what happens to it?
No way it stays attached to the cover.
Best case, it flies off somewhere in the vehicle.
Worst case it flies off and strikes you since you are less than 2 feet from the wheel when the bag deploys.
It is just not a good idea. If it did not hit you in the face, chances are it will cut or catch your arm.
Why mess with a safety device or place anything over it?
There are hundreds of places to put decorative emblems. I don't think the air bag cover should be one of them.
But hey, that's my opinion - and we all know what opinions are like.

You have a good point.....personally you don't have to worry about me doing it b/c I have the 2000 airbag cover, with a molded in Ford oval. :D

Why not just do the sticker mod that they sell? You can get a ton of designs for them...
