Full OEM Replacement of Fog Lights (Pics)

Well, yesterday afternoon I got my package in the mail, my brand new OEM Replacement fog housings + the stock 45watt bulbs..

and the kicker here is, I got them for less then half the price Ford will charge to order them in.. or Autozone, or Shucks, or Nappa!!

Now, the best part is.. here is your hookup! :-D
http://www.innerauto.com/store/?N=16...294967266+9209

I love Innerauto.. just barely over $100 for the OEM replacements, at no shipping charge.. so yay, I'm happy!

Got them installed, and I can honestly say, I can pretty much guarentee they are the EASIEST of any OEM replacement part to do.. unplug bulb, unscrew three bolts, remove old housing, put new housign on, screw in 3 bolts, plug back in. Less then 5 minutes per housing, not counting how logn it took me to find the stupid right sized tool for it, but thats only because I had my tool box get turned upside down from an improperly placed board on a bucket *bleh*

I have no 'work in progress' pictures.. because frankly, you dont need it for this small bit of work, but its a good spot to throw up a post so anyone curious about their own can get it done very very easily.

Anyway, heres how it looks, and jsut a heads up.. my passenger side fog light had a rock knock right through the front glass shield, knock the bulb out, and bounce out the other side.. and the driver side was having fogging issues form an improperly sealed unit.

Looks good, if you want to keep them from getting broken in the future go to a body shop and ask them if they have any clear paint protector film and use that on your lights. I put some on the wifes car 2 years ago and she has put 80,000 miles on her car since then and the lights still look like new. I wish I knew what the film was called but believe me it does work.

hmm, I think I will try to give that a go-ahead, anything to keep them looking and functioning good is definitely a good plus in anyones book.

Looks good

let me look into that film and get back to you guys. I think 3m made a product for that, but when i was at the office the other day, my boss showed me some stuff that guys like to use for autocross to cover their lights so they dont break.

I sure wouldnt mind spending some bucks on a custom front end with a grille to protect the fogs.. but thats a long shot considering the weight difference, and cost amount.. i have money, but I also have investments, and until i have enough money to cover that investment.. i dont feel like spending it =)

A bit of a bump, we were talking earlier about headlight protection, and well.. i found something you might think Ideal for it :-)

http://www.autotrimdesign.net/detail...025__6737.html

its called 'InvisiGARD headlight Protection System' and contains molded pieces that contour right to the exact specs of your headlights.. available only on the '01 rangers and up sadly, but I think I may just have to try these out, the pricing is NOT bad at all, considering the cost of replacing some of the parts it is involving, $70 for a set, not sure if you need 2 sets to hit both headlight locations.. but the set fo r the ranger also covers the fog lights, corners, and the main headlamps.

Check it out :-)

A bit random as well, but some neato decals for our rangers http://www.autotrimdesign.net/items_10076.html

good stuff! I agree, the price isn't bad and might pay off later. It said it has six pieces, 2 foglights, 2 sidelights, 2 headlights, so I think one set covers both locations. I could be wrong...

I like the patriotic Ford decal
