Vertical Doors

Has anyone ever seen this on a Ranger/Mazda? I have seen it done on a Tacoma, the new website I am working on is an automotive accessories parts store and installed them on several navigators and stuff, but I was thinking if I could do that to my truck, I'd definitely stand out huh?

Here is a pic of a Tacoma and a F-150
These WERE NOT done at the shop I am working with.

Q. Does the VDC kit replace my doors?
A. No it does not replace your doors. It only replaces your door hinges. You keep your original doors.
Q. How does the VDC kit function?
A. When inside you will grab the door handle of the car. Pulling the door toward you the door will open 12 - 18 inches like they do normally. From there the door will stop and not open horizontally any further. Once done you will now grab the bottom of the door and lift vertically. The door will then reach a certain point which it will not lift anymore. At this point you will be able to get in and out of the vehicle. In normal case the bottom back portion of the door will be higher than the roof of the vehicle.

When outside you will grab the door handle of the car. Pulling the door toward you the door will open 12 - 18 inches like they do normally. From there the door will stop and not open horizontally any further. Once done you will now grab the edge of the door and lift vertically. The door will then reach a pre-determined point at which it will not lift anymore. At this point you will be able to get in and out of the vehicle. In normal case the bottom back portion of the door will be higher than the roof of the vehicle.
Q. What is the normal installation process?
A. During a normal installation you will remove the front bumper and front fenders. Once they are removed you will remove the old hinges that hold the door to the car. With those hinges being removed you will install the VDC hinges and then reinstall the fenders and the doors. It is as simple as that.

The best lambo door kit out there today is the LSD kit to bad they dont make any for trucks and they cost about $5000

and those lambo doors on that ranger just look dumb maybe if the guy had invested in some custom paint and bags then it may have looked cool.

My friend is getting GT Factory hinges on his civic because he says that they are the only ones that don't sway (wiggle) when they open up. Also, check out the new ST hinges from Team Prototype:

Thats the same thing that I have heard. It is really a pain to get in and out of the vehicle with lambo doors. Especially if your heavy at all, like me.

When i get my 2002 Trans Am in a few months i will put the Vertical doors on right after my system goes in. I'll have the car less than 2 months before the Vertical Doors are on. I cant wait.

Unless your truck is lowered, not even worth it. On a pretty much bone stock truck its pointless, IMO.

Nothing special needs to be done with the wiring.

I was just curious as to the type of answers I would get. I couldnt get my fat-*** in and out of the truck, just wanted to see some unbiased answers which I saw maybe a few of.

He is talking about the boot for the wires. Are you gonna cut all the wires, b/c you have to to get the door off. Unless you can disconnect all your speaker and power windows and locks wires and feed them back into the truck and out of the door and then refeed them through the boot when you put the door back on. Its not as simple as the page makes it, it doesn't cover everything for every vehicle.
