DAMAR truck bed storage

Has anybody had any experience with their product? It looks like a quality product that is very practical for a guy like me who always has a lot of gear in the truck. They aren't cheap but it looks like it can do the job of carrying all my hunting & fishing gear along with my off-road recovery gear (straps, compressor, shackles, tire chains, shovels, towels, water, extra fluids for the truck, etc.).

Pretty cool

since you have a cap, whats stopping you from making one out of wood?

My thoughts exactly. It would be a lot cheaper and just as nice and you could build each compartment to your specs. The throw some carpet on it and be set to go.

i personaly dont like those things. i think it just takes up too much space. plus i wouldnt want my four-wheeler sitting up that high. thats just my .2 though.

I just saw it and thought it was a neat idea. I have most of my gear stored in the rear part of the cab. It's fairly organized. I keep my 2nd spare tire, hi-lift, and 2 shovels in the bed. Cool product nonetheless.

I'd rather have a Roll N Lock and a few Rubbermaid containers.

i saw a wood one made on a tv show probably on discovery channel or somethin

rangerboy101 10-26-2008 03:25 PM

yeah the rubbermaid containers are the way to go. imo its just easier to organize stuff.

i built one for my truck out of 1x10 pine. then covered it with outdoor carpet. has two doors and one has a pull out shelf. i post of pics in a few. only thing is when the truck bed shifts offroad, it flexes with the bed better than steel and its lighter.

and you can put rubbermaid containers in the bins

That looks really good. I like it.

wolfman00 11-02-2008 07:02 PM

only thing that sucks is that when i built it- it was square and the doors lined up. since the truck is always moving, the doors dont line up well now. oh well, it works, haha.

thanks though. so far i use it quite a bit and i didnt realy lose and bedspace. i mean how often do you pack a cap all the way to the roof

Trigger01 11-02-2008 07:04 PM

I have packed mine to the roof several times. Do you have access to the front of the storage box from the top?

I know with our work trucks we have a bed rat system. It has a roller frame that mounts to the bed and a flat rack that slides in an out of the bed. Not sure on the price but maybe worth something googling!!

wolfman00 11-02-2008 08:52 PM

actually up front there are two more doors. works pretty well.
