Bed cap
Hey guys, I have a question and I'm looking for some advice.
I have an 07 RCSB, 2.3 duratec, stick shift. I currently have a 3" lift and 265/75 tires and 4.56 gears, if it matters.
I am really looking for some more storage room. I have been toying around with the idea of getting a fiberglass shell for plenty of room and somewhere to sleep when I go camping.
My dilemma is this: I am trying to keep as much performance and economy as possible. Does anyone have a duratec(preferably 5spd as well) with a shell? Do you notice the weight a lot, also when going up hills/on the freeway? Generally how does it affect your driving?
I am planning to get 31's on alloys(Sticking with 4.56's) when I need tires to reduce the rolling weight and regain some performance/economy(I know my heavy steelies are sucking away my hp), but how much will a shell take back?
Any Input is appreciated! Also, if anyone happens to have pictures of a mildly lifted reg cab with a shell it would be helpful, as I could not find any.
Thanks again!
