Adjust the door latch or re-align the door

^Try this first.

Is any of your weather stripping folding over or falling off?

Before any changes, take a can of Silicone Lube or WD40, spray the lock assembly, lift the latch and do that too.
Slam the door a few times and see if that helps.

After that lube your door hinges using White Grease.

To re-align the door you have to loosen the bolts holding the hinges to the door and to adjust the latch you can either move the latch around and/or the thing that the door latch catches on. But the best thing to do first is take a pencil and mark where everything is so you can put it back where you first had it in case it doesn't need to be adjusted.

LUBE THE LATCH, you might be surprised and a lot less work !

Even if it doesn’t work can’t hurt.

I had the same problem, dinger going off all the time, door not closing when I get out.

I lubed the latch as suggested by a Site-Friend from this site and wham-bam the door closed tight and the dinger didn’t ding unless the door was opened.

aligning the hinges is a bitch, and a two person job. Don't loosen those suckers unless you have some time and a friend.

using a jack helps too, so you can support the door and fine tune the level of it.
