Double Sided Tape

Hey guys.

I took the plastic side rails off my ford ranger to take out the bed liner, but have since changed my mind. So I would like to put them back on.

My problem is i can't get the double sided tape off the bed of the truck.

I have tried everything chemical wise I can find at my auto parts store.

goo gone, even a product called trim tape remover with no luck.

here is a pic of what I am talking about

I am open to anything,

Thanks

Emil

Have you tried finger nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol?

I use the 3m Eraser Wheels (sometimes called stripe off wheels)...they work great for removing vinyl stickers & pinstripes too. Basically no way to mess the paint up..it just eats up the foam or sticky surface. A little wax afterwards...and it's as good as new.

I just used that eraser wheel attached to my drill. I ran it on low speed and it came right off.

I have one more question though. I have a tiny bit of residue left on the paint. Almost like a shadow of where the tape was. Since I'm just putting the rails back on do i have to take this off or should I be ok

Thanks for all your helps guys

Emil

question. Did that tape come on the truck from the factory? cause my oem bedliner is going over the trail and covering half of my edge decal on both sides and makes my truck look weird.

Yes it did.

I had two strips about 3/8 wide going down both sides of the box, almost end to end.

I'd try a hair dryer. Just don't get it too hot.
