i did it two days ago and it took me and my friend 30 minutes or so... it was really easy especially if you have no rust... the only problem is the bushing on the shackle is somewhat bigger than the original shackle and it's a tight fit... just my 2 cents

sorry to hijack but i just have a quick ? on this.....
On mine, i have my bars maxed and it is level with the rear right now....i have KYB Monomax shocks...ordered the ones that can be used with a 2 inch lift and it raised my rear end up since i dont have the adjustable shackles.
will putting in shackles make the *** end of the truck go up?
not going to do it now but i will in spring and get some 285s. just don't want my rear end to be higher than the front putting them on. but i should prob invest in #1 bars i assume.....

haha dang i wish it only took me 30 mins... I had to basically take my leaf springs out and drop the ubolts bc all of my stuff was so rusty that it had to be broken loose....although i have a particularly stubborn truck... it took me, my dad, and neighbor (a ford mechanic) alot of time, a vise, impact tools, arbor press, and propane torch ...

depending on how much lift you want you can use 6700's also

The slightly wider upper bushing was the only trouble with installation on mine. But it was solved with a BFH. Total install time was maybe 30 minutes from start to finish.

About 2-3 days before install, spray the bolts with PB Blaster or the like and the bolts won't give you too much trouble.

No not the same thing, you need a penetrating lube.

PB Blaster is awesome

WD40 seems like water compared to PB Blaster. There are other things like PB Blaster on the market but for me nothing works better in my experience.

It works well enough that I was able to reuse the spring bolts where the exhaust connects behind the catalytic convertor. That was with 5 salty ohio winters.
