electronic rust protection?

I was wondering whether anyone here has used an electronic rust inhibitor. Thinking of picking one up but still not 100% convinced of spending 200 bucks on something that I won't be able to tell if it's working until it's too late.

If they worked and were only $200 the manufaturers would be using them or having them as options.....

I know I've been considering this for a long time... but they are used on a lot of stuff. Like the snowplows... which are really dumptrucks full of salt. I haven't been able to find anyone who has tried them... and I also haven't been able to find one with a warranty that will still apply after I install it myself. Looks like undercoating for life.

they really are used on commercial vehicles from the factory or added as an after market add on once purchased and placed into service?

The snowplows/salters here have the electronic rust inhibitor systems on them, but I highly doubt that the ones they sell at Canadian Tire, Auto Zone, and Pep Boys work the same and as well as the commercial ones do.

And if someone has them installed on "their" vehicle (not a friend of a friends moms aunts uncles second cousin), please share your opinion.
