Emblem install help!

I am sure that there are a few forums on this already but I couldnt find them so I am wondering if anyone knows the best way to take off the old ranger emblem in order to install my new 06 emblems on my 02 Ranger XLT. I am sure that there is a trick to make it easy I just dont want to muff my paint up.

let the truck sit in the sun all day.....then around 4pm, go out with a blow drier on high heat......go over the emblem a few times and the tape should be lose.....pull it off....clean the excess tape off with Gu-Gone......wipe area with an alchol pad....stick new emblem on...

tape off the area you don't want to paint.....clean the area you do want to paint with alcohol. leave the black paint on there if that is what you want to paint.....then spray the paint on the area you want in about 4 coats.....don't try to paint it all at once...

What I am lookin at doing is painting all the chrome the same wedgewood blue as my truck and then painting the Ranger and XLT a Bronco orange so that they would really stand out, I wonder if anyone could photoshop it to see how it would look. I already have Denver Bronco license plates cuz I live in CO but I think painting the emblems would really set them off. What do you think?

It'd definitely be unique. I'd probably fit the truck well from the sounds of it.

There are 3 holes and an indentation behind each emblem. The emblems are held on by adhesive and there are alignment pins that fit into the two smaller holes.

If you replace them with 06+ emblems, the holes will be covered. If you just remove the emblems, you get this:

I suspect that it was originally added to the fender stamping for a side marker light. Some countries require them.
