Exterior Upgrades?

Hey guys, been a while since i've been on the RF. Looking to put in some work on my 2008 Ranger 4x4 Sport Supercab, 2.5" level kit on the front with 33" Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires.

Looking at getting a grille, rims, headlights, taillights, and mounting some kick butt LED bars both front and back.

Looking at starting with the grille, i've searched online quite a bit and its been hard to come across what I'm looking for, especially for the sport model I think. I really like the T-Rex billet grille everyones probably seen but they mention it not fitting my truck.

Looking for an all black grill, preferably mesh but wouldn't mind a black billet bar type grille and then get a nice badge for it..

Anybody have any ideas?

FC.

What would be best is looking up grilles for 2004-2005 models. Your '08+ Sport have the same grille shell as the 2004-2005. The standard "H" bar '06+ grilles, there isn't anything available other than billet for mesh that fills the holes. That's probably why you're having a hard time locating a grille insert for your year.

T-Rex Black Billet: 2004-2005 Ford Ranger - Billet Grille Insert - Full Open - Fits all models - 21 Bars - All Black Powdercoat [20660B] : T-Rex Billet Grilles, Car and Truck Accessories

Street Scene offers a really nice mesh insert (pictured below, courtesy of Mykhael Hayes), but you'll have to get a 04-05 grille insert or grille assembly to place them into. They don't offer full "big mouth" mesh inserts like on the 01-03's.

The good news is your grille assembly or grille insert on your '08+ Sport or the '05-06 STX is a highly sought after grille. Making for an easy sell. And for what it's worth, the standard '06-12 grille fits a 26" LED light bar right in the gap between the grille bars. Making for a super clean flush install. Might be something to look into.

Headlights....honestly, it's worth it just to drop the little cash for these...

I like the way those fenders tie into the bumper. Who makes them?

OP swap grills from an earlier model. Your sport should just be a colour surround with 7/8 black verticle bars. Mine was like the red truck posted above but with a chrome surround. I swapped as I didn't like the H style.

Thanks Fx4, you could see my grille in my display picture. I don't think mine is the "H" type of grille you may be talking about.

However, I did find this one that is pretty similar to the T-rex grille.

As for the LED bar, I don't know where you mean about mounting it, I was thinking of putting it right below my grille on the front bumper?

Thanks man,
FC

The Blue/ Green fenders in the first picture have a very nice look. Are they aftermarket and if so where duid you find them?

Is this taken from experience? The trex billet I've seen looked pretty good.

Ya i'd say one of the nicest grilles i've seen fitted on a range IMO. Just got my grille in, pretty impressed going to mount it up in the next couple days, and also get nice projectors ordered with some HID's cause my halogens strain the F* out of my eyes.

Dude, that's gray and darker gray. No one has posted an answer about their manufacturer but I am assuming they are aftermarket.

Will do Randy, tried mounting it up yesterday and I think they've sent me the wrong grill. Mounting tabs on the grille don't align with anything on the grille shell. I'll keep you guys posted and will upload some pictures.

headlights?

First off let me say that the black and red truck are nice!!!

Question for the black and red truck: Are you using HID's in your headlights? If so did you have to mod anything when you put the new headlight assembly in, since the 05 ranger comes with the 9007 connector.
I was thinking of getting the black trucks headlight assembly and looking at the red truck's assembly also. Gentlemen, how do you like them? Do they preform well at night? If you could attach some pics of them on and at night would be wonderful. I really like the blackout look to them. Thank you for the info.
