Side steps.. how do they mount?

I took off the side steps on my 08 just after i got it and sold them.. im getting some all black ones again to match my new all blac color scheme and i just cant remember if they bolt onto the frame, or if its on the body by the rockers.

Also wanting to know this too because with my body lift it will determine how they will look.. if they mount to the frame, the steps will be sitting too low and will suck for offroading, but if they mount to the body then thas sweet because it will hhide my frame more from the body lift :)

thanks.. oh and id go and look at my truck and find out for myself but its int he shop at the moment.

They mount to the cab.....so with a bodylift, they go up with the cab.

The front, you slide into studs and the rear slides into the huge *** holes in the bottom of the rocker. I believe the rear needs to be slipped in first, then slide forward into the front studs by the body mounts.

I need help with mounting side steps on my '06 Ranger Sport

Hey I'm new to this forum and need some help. I have an '06 Ranger Sport and just purchased some side steps off craigslist and was hoping someone could help point me in the right direction. I don't know if there are any pictures someone could show me to help make it easier, but that would be great if that is a possibility. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Jason

If you bought factory bars you need to make sure they match your truck style. Only 2 door models fit 2 doors, and 4 door bars fit 4 door models. No interchanging.

Bad News Mike. It turns out the steps I bought came off a 4 door and mine is a 2 door. Ford doesn't offer any conversion brackets or anything? Totally bummed right now. Maybe I can try and sell them or trade them with someone, but I totally lost some cash on this deal right now. Any suggestions on a solution? Do you know anyone looking for OEM steps for a 4 door ranger?

What's funny about the city I live in P.C.? Do you have some experience there or something?
