Fog Light Problems :(

I was driving to one of my friends houses the other night and i pulled up and he said i had a fog light out. It was dark and i didnt take a good look at it so i just thought it just blew out. The next day when i was looking at it the metal peice inside the lens cover that either reflects or holds the bulb up broke off and snapped the bulb off instead of it just going out... i got to taking the whole fog light assembly off and i can't seem to get the lens off the black fog light structure holding it to get inside the light to screw the metal peice back on.. It's like it is glued on or something.. Any info would be appreciated.

They're glued together like the headlamps.

EDIT: I got motivated after originally posting...

Based on mine I'd be willing to bet that since the metal shield (don't know what it's really called) is loose/off, that the heat of the bulb has melted the housing behind the screw.

Here are my 04 lamps after striping them down to just the housing and lens so they could be baked

Same lamps after being baked and taken apart

Here's the damage to the housing Take notice the heat related damage to the area just above the screw and just above where the bulb goes. I was running SilverStar 9145's...

I also got motivated last night and ended up grinding the plastic around where the glue is off. From there i just took a screwdriver and pryed the lens off.. Stuck the metal shield back on..Siliconed it back together and im going to put it back on tonight when i get home.. who knows why it came off.. I also just purchased the SilverStar 9145's. They make a big difference? You like them?

I do like the Silverstars better but I won't be using them in the fog lamps again. I'm finishing a custom bumper and skid plate so I have no use for them. I will be keeping the 9007ST's in the headlamps though.
