i say leave it, its alot less maintenace that way. paint will peel, flake, scratch, and chip.

if you want the rough look take them into a rhino liner place and have them done.

I Like them painted, but they are right. if you like the rough look I would go with a bedliner company. I bought an Edge bumper cover and edge painted flairs from the local dealership already painted for $500 total. I am waiting for sping to put them on. I am going to have them covered in that clear 3M Bra kit. I have had good luck with this stuff in the past. if you do it right it looks great and stops the chips.

plastic would be more porous so it would stick better... right?

Or that too, I am just not that good at that stuff, so I take it to Line-X, but if you can do it, more power to you!

it might flex more thus causing it to crack...

hmmm... yeah thats a good point, it doesn't flex all that much though, not unless you hit something with the front bumper. I dont see how you would need to worry aobut it flexing with the fender flares

use krylon fushion for plastic, if you sand and prep it good, that paint bonds to it

my front lower valance and rear bumper step are both painted black, with SEM bumper coating. they were both gray plastic to begin with. theyve been painted since august and they still look perfect.

it's all in using the right paint for the job, and quality prepping!

Joe (rideAC1) painted his flares and valence with black Krylon fussion. It looks really good in my opinion. I wanna do my flares black like that.

spray on bed liner is all over my truck. It is a flat black but holds up well and is cheap to repaint.
