Found this on Ebay... Question for you guys.

Ok. So I'm looking at doing the swap to an 01-03 front end and I've been searching Ebay for awhile now.

I found this today:

01-03 Ranger Grill

Well anyway, here's my question. How much more am I looking at paying for that painted piece that goes under the lights and around the grill. Because I've only been able to find the whole thing for around $75 with $20 shipping. So this seems like a decent price if I can get that piece from a junkyard cheap or something.

Anyway, just figured I'd ask you guys, see what you thought. Thanks for any help.

Not sure on the price. I got a totally loaded header panel (header panel, grille, grille shell, headlights, and side markers) for $275 shipped to my door. I did the conversion on my '99. The '99 hood will work there is just a little bit of a gap between the hood and grille that's all. I put the '01-'03 hood on cause I like the looks of it. Here are pics of both.

Stock '99 hood:

Can I ask where you got all that stuff from jerskain? I'll do some more searching and see what I can come up with. THanks for the tip though.

See if certifit has a location near you. I got my header panel and grill(the honeycomp and part under the headlights) for $75 total. Clear corners and headlights were about another 75, so i've done the conversion for about $150. I still need to find an edge hood and front bumper before i get it painted though.

Check out www.certifit.com

*edit* looks like they have a location in st. paul, i have no idea how far that is from where you are from.

Thanks for the compliments fellas. I just got confirmation from Jusnes that my xcalibrator 2 has shipped and I'm so fired up right now! Not that anyone cares but I just had to tell someone. Man I can't wait.

They are ok. These are the only mud tire I have ever owned so I have nothing to compare them to. I know they are loud as hell. Especially between 30-35mph. My next set will be all terrains. Unless someone can recommend a little quieter mud tire.

so quick question, basially in order to do the front end conversion from say a 98 to what the 02 looks like all I need is lights, grill, bumper header panel and a hood if I don't want the gap, fenders are the same on both models?

Yes fenders are the same. You don't necessarily need the bumper either. Here is a pic with the 99 xlt bumper. I think the gap is a little bigger between the grille and the bumper though. Depends on how much converting you want to do I guess.

thanks for the pic with the old bumper, the gap does look a little bigger but it looks fine to me since I want to make custom bumpers for it eventually, thanks for all the info, I'd been thinking about going that direction for some time but wasn't sure how much was involved
