front/rear bumper

i was lookin around on the site and saw a pic of FX4wannabes front bumper and noticed that where it is usually chrome, its black. how can i do this, cuz i hate chrome but dont wanna dish out 800 for an offroad bumper since i might not keep my truck forever... how would i go about getting an edge/sport/other submodel thats nochrome front end rear bumper like one of the guys did on here to his red ranger? thanks

Look on LMC Truck or certifit. Certifit doesn't ship but if you have one close to you that will probably be the cheapest place, other than a JY of course.

yea, only thing about a jy is that the bumpers are prolly Fd. since they are made to protect during wrecks. unless it was rear ended and the fronts good and visa versa. the front isnt too expensive to buy new, its like 65 on the site the guy above listed. but the rear is like 3-400. anyone know if they come painted or what? they look like they come black and you have to paint if you have another color.

They are usually just a black primer and you have to paint.

The rear bumper is only $160 from rockauto. Add in shipping and the price for front and rear bumpers is $351.34. For that price I would get them sandblasted and powder coated.

lol.....well.....I sanded the chrome, sprayed on rust oleum auto grey primer, then sprayed on duplicolor bedliner in a can. Underneeth that black, is a stock chrome bumper thats tweaked out(reason for painting it in the first place...see if i like it)

yeah I'd just do what Shane did. just sand the chrome down real good and use a good primer. then black it with a nice topcoat

idk, dealers like to find reasons to give you less on trade in. what grit did you use shane, and did you use an e-sander or sheet by hand?

As long as it is done professionally, and it looks half decent, they should have no grounds to offer you a lower price.

I see trucks at dealers that are MORE of a frankenstein ranger than mine is! Shoot...I got an offerfor mine a few years back....airbag light, no parking brake, broke *** ball joint, a locker, fuel light that they called a check engine light, interior half apart, no flares. etc..blahblah. they dont care. Plus..it's trading in...stupid choice money wise anyhow.
