I had to take off my bed rail caps to get the bed repainted and broke off 7 of the 8 bolts holding them on.

I basically just broke the heads off and the clamps came apart but now I have no way to reattach them. I'm guessing dealership is only place to get new clamps and there I might not be able to get the clamps seperately.

My first thought was to drill out what is there are re-tap the hole with a bigger bolt. Never done it before but can't be that hard. They are aluminum.

Just looking for suggestions and ideas. I can get pics if it might help.

Just called dealership and they want $90 a piece so that is out of the question.

or just helicoil them its not hard they have kits you can use
