FX4 Level III

Originally, when Ford was planning the FX4 Level II, there was also supposed to be an FX4 Level III introduced with more off road content than the LII. Sadly, that plan was scrapped at some point and the Level III never made it to production.

In the spirit of the LIII that never was, I decided to give my LII a promotion to "Level III" via some new custom stickers.

That style has never come from the factory. Actually, I doubt that Ford ever even had a sticker designed before the Level III project was canceled. Mine have the same style font as the OE LII stickers but the sizes and arrangement have been changed.

Nice, you truck does deserve it, man! It's one of the ultimate LuxoRangers out there! You ever plan on lifting it? or are going to wait until you have your "ultimate trick suspension" engineered first, lol.

I have my "ultimate cheap suspension" in the rear - the junkyard Chevy spring swap. Still working on something for the front.

Since it never got to production, there isn't much info on it. For sure, it was going to have front AND rear Torsen diffs and there was talk of the Explorer rear discs also. I think it was supposed to have some sort of suspension upgrade plus some cosmetic differences.

Do they make Torsen diffs for our front d30/35 axles? I'd be on that like white on rice!

They made a few prototypes but no production units. There are two of them in use right now. Sean (desertspive on ORR) who is Tech Editor at Four Wheeler magazine has one in his RangeRunner project truck and loves it. See the August 2006 issue of FW or online:

http://www.fourwheeler.com/projectbu...ntial_install/.

The implication is that if enough people show a REAL interest in the front Torsen for the IFS Ranger, they might tool up for a production run.

However, I can guarantee that it won't happen unless Torsen can see the demand. If you want one, contact Torsen and let them know! www.torsen.com

I always thought if I got an FX4 and really modded it, I'd call it:

FX4 Level X

(ie: 10), and X looks cool...

nice stickers Bob! and as always sweet truck.
