Whoops... new paint job

So the other day I decided to sand down and repaint my side steps because they were getting rusty. I tried taking them off but they were stuck pretty good. I used wd40 and yeah no budge. anyways i decided to sand them down and tape up my truck and paint them. I painted it in my garage with the doors and windows open to provide ventilation but... must not have been enough because the black paint ended up getting all over my truck. You cant see the black on my white truck unless your up real close, and the truck still shines nice. But you can feel the paint all over except where i had taped off the sides which was up till about the door handle. Its really rough feeling. Anyways my point is that I can scratch off this paint with my finger nails and was wondering if buffing it off with just the cloth or if theres some kind of stripper that will be soft enough to use on the truck without harming the clear coat? Thanks

clay bar OR lacquer thinner, but make sure you wash the truck with soap and water immediately after.
