mine is from jcwhitney, only like $80ish.. it isnt cheap either for the fact i hit a grand am doing about oh 35-40mph. shoved the trunk up into the rear window and sliced up the plastic rear bumper and its still the same bar.. just needed to replace the plastic valance it ripped off...

dude you are the man you help me out with everything thanks for your help again haha

were there any type of mounts on it for your lamps or did you have to mount them yourself?

Redneckstone Jan 5, 2007 04:54 PM

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...014007/c-10101 here it is. the only thing i did was upgrade the carriage bolt from the cheap one they sent to a grade 8 stainless. there also the square section on the inside of the carriage bolt was small compaired to hole in the guard that is why i upgraded to a little larger one that fits better. on the bottom 2, I cut the carriage bolts down because behind the bumper there isnt much room for the nut... just fyi

little old pics of my truck but you get the idea

BillyMenz Jan 7, 2007 06:16 PM

can you tow with that? is it attached directly to the frame like a brush guard? what kind of pay load does it have?

Redneckstone Jan 7, 2007 06:20 PM

lol no you cant tow with it you want to buy a front hitch for that..

BillyMenz Jan 7, 2007 06:57 PM

what did you use to drill into the bumper?

Redneckstone Jan 7, 2007 06:58 PM

a drill and drill bit... also might want to center punch it also otherwise the bit might walk..

I ordered a new grille, the grille guard and 2 daylighters. I just got a big fat insurance check for the wind blowing a ladder over onto my truck... the insurance compant estimated almost 1000$ so i'm replacing the beat up grille and having the dent and scratch on my hood repaired for 370$

BillyMenz Jan 19, 2007 06:09 PM

do your highly recommend replacing the carriage bolts like you did or will i be ok with the ones jcwhitney sends me?

Redneckstone Jan 19, 2007 06:17 PM

double check but mine the square part on the back side was really small compaired to the slot in the gaurd if yours is the same i would head up to home depot and get some bigger stainless one's that fit better. if not then your fine.. the only thing when i bought the better one's the lower two i have to cut down on the new one's cause they where just a little to long for the area no big deal tho...

BillyMenz Jan 19, 2007 06:58 PM

you have the same daylighters on your guard as you have on your light bar? how did you wire them? the ones on the guard that is

Redneckstone Jan 19, 2007 07:12 PM

KC lights come with a wiring harness. i used that...

BillyMenz Jan 20, 2007 08:46 AM

i realize that, what i mean is did you have to drill holes anywhere to run the wires to the switch in the cab or anything?
