i have a 2000 model ranger 2wd

what year model rangers would i be able to switch out the grill header panel and head lights ... but i want to be able to keep my hood so i dont have to pay for so much paint and labor.. threw a paint shop:shrug:

I think if you go 01-03 you have to get a new hood I am not 100 percent sure but really close to it

You don't. All you need is the grille, header panel and lights.

Really I thought the hood was a little bit different but if indeed I am wrong then I learned something new today and he just saved a lot of cash. lol thanks man for correcting me

Nope sure don't. MudSlanger just did this swap like yesterday, I had pics but I delated them lol. He kept his stock hood and bumper.

IF you choose to do a "EDGE" grille(same grille as on 4x4 XLT models as well), this is what your stock hood will look with the honey comb grille, known as an 01-03 edge grille....notice the gap vs. my truck and the "powerdome" hood.....

01-03 are easily swapable to your truck w/ very little parts. 04+ on the other hand.....you need a hood as well.

the gap is not really that bad with the older hood and egde grill just like the picture above i just did the swap and in my opinion it dosent look bad

wvcat did the whole shibang lol

i think if you used a 2wd xlt (the one with the big bars) the space wouldn't be noticeable at all..but it still doesn't look bad with the edge grill

wvcat Jul 17, 2008 09:06 PM

Yeah I had a whole parts truck so it was easy...lol
