hannemann fiberglass fenders vs trim stock fender
As some know I am in process of doing a BL and putting on 35's. When I turn the wheel the tires come close to the front fender. The back of the tire coming back towards the door like, comes close to the fender within 1/2 inch. I think for the type of wheeling I do which is not xtreme trails and stuff, I might be fine but it makes me nervous. I am thinking about getting hannemann fiberglass fenders, about $150 each not too bad. Anybody else have them ? Other then that I am thinking about maybe trimming the stock fenders and having them rolled over. Any thoughts ?
edit :T-bars are cranked all the way in already. |
I love my fiberglass. But once you get them you have to have them painted. I worked at a dealership and got both of mine sanded/primered/painted/clearcoated for 100$.
I would cut the fenders. Its not your DD and cutting is free. |
i wouldnt cut the fenders. if its not gettin major body damamge to where you wouldnt care about the body no reason to hack into good fenders. I guaarantee the lines wont match and will be wobbly. just spend the money and get glass.

I am thinking its only the small piece that is right in front of the door so its not a major job. I am going to try a few things like turn it until it gets to that point where they are close and run up on a curb and see what happends.
|
See what happens with the curb when you can tonight. If it looks like its gonna rub too much, I'd listen to Trent and Gil. I'm sure these guys have seen a crapload more trucks outfitted for larger wheels than us. I also know that cutting and bending metal can be quite difficult to perfect from a few of experiences at my last job.

I say cut them if u f up then u can buy the glass ones. Y not try it u might be able to save the money. U could pay for the new glass, or u could see if u do a good job and not hardly pay anything and if u mess it up u were gonna buy the glass anyway right.

Keys might be able to do that. If I'm not mistaken they act the same way they do when you crank them, so I'm not too sure about them, but some members on here have used them (???).
