Herculiner Installed This Weekend
For those of you who don't know what that is it is the Roll-On Bed Liner. Or a cheap version of Rhino or Line-X. I put this stuff in the bed and over the rails of my 84 Ranger. Came out real nice except for the fact that my hands are now stained black because I didn't wear gloves. I ave tried everything to get it off and it won't come off. The instructions say to use Xylene which I haven't been able to find. Oh well back to the truck. This stuff has some nice grit to it and looks like it will work just as good as the Spray-On Liners. After doing it I won't be installing it in my 04 F-150, I will be spending the real money for a nice Line-X Liner.
Let me know if anybody else has used this and what you think. |
how thick is the herculiner? Im debating weather or not to put in my 04?

got any pics?

It is pretty thick with the two coats (1 Gallon Can). I will get some pics in the daylight tomorrow and put them up in here. I only put it in this truck because it is a BEATER. I wouldn't put it in anthing else just becuase I like the professional look of the spray on liners.

I've been considering doing this to my toolbox. Looking forward to the pics!

HaHa. I remember that. I think I used carb cleaner before it dried on my hand. Xylene is where paint thinner and acetone is at most hardware stores. It is basically untinted gasoline. We use it to get stains out of granite counter tops. here's the tip of the day- you have an oil stain on concrete that needs to go away. Make a paste of xlyne and plaster of paris and put it on the stain. The xlyne will dissolve the oil stain, the palster of paris wicks it up. Once it is evaporated the plaster of paris will blow away. may take a couple of applications. |
