How Do I Remove Niteshades?

Hey guys. I got stopped today in Utah for my Niteshades lenses. I am pretty pissed still about the whole situation, partly because I have to remove my niteshades (temporarily at least), and partly because the officer was a total deuche to me. Anyway, I need to remove the tint that is on there. I used Niteshades brand spray on tint, covered by a clear coat. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY REMOVE THE NITESHADES? IF SO, WHAT DO I USE TO REMOVE IT?

I am planning on re-doing them, just not as dark. Any advice would be great. I searched forums already before making a new thread, and couldn't find anything on it. So if I missed a thread that already tells me how, forgive me. Thanks guys.

I used, Paint thinner.

I'm sure you can get someone to trade you for some stock, unpainted ones.

Paint thinner works

after getting the coating off, I would get a headlight lens restore kit to buff the shine back in.

Paint thinner works perfectly.

I had my tails on my Chrysler Cirrus nightshaded and had to remove the tint... paint thinner worked easily, even after a couple months of the tint on the tails.

+1

If you only use paint thinner, it'll look much duller than stock.

My Ranger is a 99. From your name, guessing yours is an '05?

mattloveranger 02-22-2010 12:23 AM

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll probably try to trade anyone interested in '99 lenses. If that doesn't happen in the next week or so I'll pull them off and use some elbow grease to restore them. I DO want to re-do them, just maybe not as dark so they don't stand out as much to police. Anybody have any idea what the law even is? I'm in Utah... Anyway, thanks guys. Lots of help as usual.
